American Autumn (Poem)

Apathy
Hopelessness
Puppet strings being pulled by puppet masters
Bailouts of the "too big to fail"
Going into the pockets of CEOs
Whose ill-gotten gains, going into the hands of the few
Are used to ensure that they maintain their freedom
While enslaving the many
Police state apparatus being used to terrorize and oppress the
Very population they were sworn to protect
Fuses lit
Anger
Pain
Bitterness
Growing, spreading
Explosion
People are tired
Tired of being taken for granted
Tired of being ignored
Tired of being used
They have finally woken up
There may be struggle ahead, but
They are a tide that cannot be turned back
The system must be dismantled
And another one created anew
One that is just
Is peaceful
Is compassionate
Is understanding
The American Autumn is here
